Studivz Dataset

This dataset is derived from wall posts from a (German?) University social networking site http://www.studivz.net, contacts occur when a post is made on the ‘wall’ of another person. I have given each post event a relative length of time based on wall post length (1000 ms per character).

The connected time graph created by contact is huge, and is shown below:

Studivz weekly and daily Activity

The highlighted peaks correspond with new years eve.

Studivz (Google translate version)

Networked yourself with your university – and beyond!

With studiVZ You stay up to date: Find out what’s going on at your university! Or find out new people and old friends and exchange them with you: Who is the cool guy in the main auditorium on the second row? Your roommate knows him? Which professors and lecturers to give good grades?

You have friends outside the university? Then they are determined at meinVZ and you’ll find out and contact them by studiVZ – over 10 million users in the VZ network certainly no problem.

Practice makes perfect!
